My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 253 Deadly Situation

As soon as the referee blew his whistle, Ahmed passed the ball to Seth who quickly rolled it back to one of the defenders before Fredinho could get to him.

"The sixth match of match day two has now kicked off," Jim said.

Frono FC were doing everything possible to make sure that they didn\'t lose the ball but they didn\'t seem too eager to attack so far in the game.

Frono FC were playing with the five-three-two formation and the two players they had up front were Seth and Darwin.

The right-back received the ball from the right midfield before quickly stretching it toward the left back who was making a run away from the box now.

Minino tried to bring him down and collect the ball with a quick slide, but he was quick enough to escape the slide and send the ball to one of the central midfielders who quickly sent the ball rolling toward Darwin.

"Over to Darwin.\'

Darwin had trouble right in front of him in the person of Martinez Alejandro but he was quick enough to trap the ball with his back heel and send it back to Ahmed the central midfielder to receive it back from him after zooming past Martinez.

"Nicely done by Martinez and Ahmed."

The striker had the shooting space he needed even though Adolf and Aima were quickly heading toward him.

He sent the ball flying toward the left side of the goalpost with a little elevation but he should have added more power to his shot as Dave ended up grabbing the ball before it could cause any damage.

"Dave says no," Jim said.

"If he\'s going to beat him, he\'s going to have to be a little more creative, shots like that won\'t work," Steve said.

His teammates weren\'t in positions to start counterattacks so the goalkeeper had to throw the ball to Roland.

Roland had Seth quickly heading toward him, so he quickly passed the ball to Dave who quickly sent it flying toward Henry.

Henry brought the ball down with his chest and quickly sent it to Minino before he was dragged down by Ahmed.

He raised his hands and called for a foul but there was no response from the referee so play continued.

Minino moved forward to the ball before laying it off to Carlos down the wing.

The left-back was following the winger closely to stop him from getting through, Carlos knew that it was going to be difficult to get past him so he decided to go for the second option.

He slowly approached the winger with the ball before quickly breaking loose further down the wing and just as the ball was about to go out of play, he sent it flying into the box.

"Carlos is trying to overrun the defender here and he\'s sent it in!"

Fredinho rose high toward the ball with the defender in the area at that time but the striker was the one who got to the ball with a header.

"Fredinho!"

The goalkeeper dived toward the right side where the striker had sent the ball but there was no point in that as the ball ended up hitting the crossbar before falling over for a goal kick.

"Oh, no, it hit the crossbar," Jim said.

Fredinho had a devastated look on his face after missing that chance but he didn\'t let it bother him too much, there was still a lot of time left in the game anyway.

The match continued with both sides trying their best but Unique FC seemed to be doing better.

They weren\'t dominating Frono FC as they had only fifty-two percent ball possession, but their defense was top notch, that shot from Darwin had been the host\'s only shot in the game so far while Unique FC had gotten two more shots which were both on target but were somehow saved by the goalkeeper, both of those shots came from Mateo Smith.

The match had entered the twenty-fifth minute now and none of the sides had been able to provide a goal.

<You\'ve gotten a lot of opportunities to try out that shot, why are you being hesitant?> Catherine asked after Dave sent out another ball to his teammate instead of aiming directly for the goalpost.

\'Don\'t worry, Cat, I know what I\'m doing.\' The goalkeeper replied.

<If you waste too much time, something may go wrong and you may become disorganized>

Dave\'s ball was sent flying toward Henry and the attacking midfielder ended up winning the aerial duel against Ahmed before pushing the ball to Mateo.

"Nicely done by Henry."

All the winger needed was a single touch to send the ball flying toward Fredinho who was heading into the box at this moment with one of the center-backs hot on his trail.

The striker didn\'t jump up quick enough so the center-back ended up getting his head to the ball first but that resulted in him sending the ball over the bar for a corner kick.

"Nice way to avert the danger but now they have a corner kick to deal with," Steve said.

The ball was sent out through the right side so Ferran quickly rushed to the area to take the corner kick.

"This could be Unique FC\'s chance to do something," Jim said.

Ferran was standing over the ball waiting for the referee\'s whistle as the players from both teams roamed around inside the box.

After observing everything for a while and making sure no one was getting rough inside the box, he blew his whistle.

Ferran wasn\'t too hasty to take the corner kick as he slowly took two steps backward and paused before quickly closing up on the ball.

He sent the ball flying into the box from the top but unfortunately for him, none of his teammates was able to get to the ball as it was headed back by a Frono FC player.

"The rebound is still active," Jim said.

The rebound was sent down the middle exactly where Henry was standing waiting for it, but before he could get his foot on the ball, it was quickly knocked off by Ahmed.

"Ahmed and Henry have been on each other\'s neck since the start of the match and it just keeps getting more intense.* Steve said.

The ball landed in the feet of the right back who quickly moved away from Roland with the ball before he launched it toward Darwin who was in a very good position.

Both Aima and Adolf quickly raised their hands and called for offside as soon as the striker brought the ball down with his foot but there was no response from the referee as the striker kept moving forward with the ball.

"Uh oh, things aren\'t looking good for Unique FC here," Jim said.

"This doesn\'t look good," Dave muttered as he tried to come up with a way to deal with the situation.

<What is wrong with that referee?>

Darwin was quickly heading toward the goalpost to get his goal, and he wasn\'t stopping for anyone or anything except the referee\'s whistle.
